The Plan of Salvation
We are all going to live eternally somewhere. Jesus spoke about two places where everyone will spend eternity, Heaven or Hell. He offers us eternal life with him through repentance and faith in his death, burial and resurrection. Please consider these steps and Scripture references as a guide to eternal life with Christ:
1. You need to see yourself as a lost sinner, separated from God and condemned to an eternal Hell.

“As it is written there is none righteous, no, not one.” Romans 3:10.
“But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you…” Isaiah 59:2.

We have all broken God’s commandments. No one is perfect, and in order to get to Heaven, God requires perfection.

2. There is a consequence for sin.

“For the wages of sin is death.” Romans 6:23.
“But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolators, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” Revelation 21:8.

3. You cannot pay for your own sins and you cannot save yourself.

“Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us…” Titus 3:5.
“For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9.

4. Jesus Christ paid the penalty for us. He is the only one who can provide salvation and deliverance from Hell.

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8.
“Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.” Hebrews 9:12.

5. Repent and receive Jesus Christ as your Saviour.

“I tell you, Nay: but except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.” Luke 13:3.
“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved…” Acts 16:31.
I would like to invite you now, to humble yourself before God, and repent (a change of mind that leads to a change of direction), believe the Gospel and receive the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour. Pray, ask God to forgive your sins and call on Christ to be your Saviour.

Dear Heavenly Father,

I know that I am a sinner. I know that I cannot get to Heaven without Jesus Christ. I believe that Jesus came to earth in the flesh, and that he suffered, bled and died on the cross to pay for my sins. I believe he rose from the dead on the third day, and is alive today in Heaven. I am sorry I have sinned. Lord, I ask you please to forgive me. I ask you to save my soul from Hell and take me to Heaven when I die. I trust you, Jesus, and receive you as my Saviour. Please save me. I pray in Jesus’ name.
Amen.

If you have just trusted Jesus as your personal Saviour, then congratulations! You are now born again into the family of God. Now you must read your Bible daily and get yourself plugged into a Bible-believing, Gospel-preaching Church!
